Growing up, Valentine’s Day wasn’t just for grown ups. My parents used this time of year to show us just how much they loved us with simple and fun crafts, valentines and treats. It was always such a special day for us because, well, we felt special.

So, in honor of St. Valentine’s Day, here are three of my favorite fun and simple ideas for your kiddos to enjoy!

1. THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS

If you’re looking for a simple DIY project to show your kids just how special they are, then try this cute idea from Skip To My Lou.

Cut out hearts from colorful construction paper and then write a nice thought about your child on each one. Starting February 1, tape a heart to their door every morning until Valentine’s Day. 

Your kids will love waking up each morning to see what you wrote, and these make for fun and colorful decorations too!
